Disney on Ice is Coming to a Venue Near You

DOI Generic LogoI can’t believe it’s been almost a year since we took MAM to her first Disney on Ice show. When Mom Central asked for bloggers to help spread the word about this year’s shows, I responded with a quick, “Yes! I will spread the word!” Why?

Because the shows are incredible. The music, the characters, the ice skating, the stunts…all of it is amazing and magical, and for the two hours you are watching, you are transported into another world. Your cellphone is off, and all eyes are on the stage. Or looking over at the youngster you’ve brought, who is mesmerized by the ice skating and the costumes. I have fond memories of seeing the Ice Capades as a child, and after last year’s experience, I have decided that my children will have memories of going to Disney on Ice.

Several shows have started touring already, please visit http://disney.go.com/disneyonice/, for more information about when a show is coming near you. The shows touring this year are: Celebrations, Worlds of Fantasy, 100 Years of Magic, Princess Classics and Finding Nemo.

36

Today I am 36….yes, on 09-09-09. How’s that for some trippy numerology? 3+6=9, 3,6, and 9 are all factors of 36. 3+6+9+9+9=36. Yes, I’ve given this birthday some thought.

I don’t know if anyone else thinks this way, in numbers, like I do. But I’ve always liked the number 9, probably because of my birth date. My plans? I don’t have many. But there’s been a home made birthday card “hiding” on the couch for a week with my name on it. And candles. Can a mom really ask for more?  (and the candles on this cake below? times that by THREE. I’ve reached the age where it’s a fire hazard to actually light the right number of candles…)

Two Weeks of Work v. 10 Weeks of Summer

Almost done with week 2 of the 2009-2010 school year. Bedtimes are established, lunchboxes are being toted, daily reports from daycare are being received, and hey, we even have our first ear infection of the year (Jr, this time). We are up an running!!

Was PBS Kids in the Park just two months ago? Really?
Was PBS Kids in the Park just two months ago? Really?

It’s amazing how fast we can establish a routine around these parts. It almost feels like we never stopped leaving the house at 7:30 in the morning. It almost feels like summer vacation never happened.

That we didn’t eat 236 Flav-R-Ice pops this summer.

That we didn’t spend a fun week on Boston’s South Shore.

That we didn’t spend days at the pool, the park, and the library.

That we had days where we didn’t get dressed until noon.

That we didn’t watch fireworks. Or see sand dunes.

But we did.  It’s a good thing I blogged about most of  it.
