A Virtual Tour

Since our house is one of sickness, don’t come in! Just stay at home, in front of your computer, and enjoy the view.

THE TREE. You can’t really see it here, but you get the idea. Lots of white lights, some blue. Mostly decorated with teddy bears and snowmen, topped with a silver star.
At the base of the tree is M’s nativity set. It only looks like this after she goes to bed. Mostly, she crashes the stable down. But I think she’ll catch on, eventually.
The mantel has been decorated too! Again, you can’t see it too well, but the stockings are hung on stocking holders that spell J O Y. There’s snowmen up there, as well as a nativity snow globe.
This is M’s favorite holiday decoration this year. Press his foot and “Jingle Bells” starts….and a little snowman pops out of the top hat. Does it get any better than that?
M in front of the fireplace, enjoying her favorite blanket in her new chair from Grandma and Grandpa (an early Christmas delivery).

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

On the Mend….

It appears that the mysterious virus or whatever is leaving. Only one of L’s ankles hurts today and the fever is about gone. The only thing I can attribute it to is the power of prayer, certainly NOT modern medicine. Although I do give our doc’s office kudos for trying. Yesterday afternoon I did speak with our PA again, and she talked me down off the ledge, listened intently to all of my theories and politely reiterated that they couldn’t treat something they knew so little about, save the CBC info they did get back. When in doublt, just attempt to sleep it off, I suppose.

I got a job offer this morning…..the offer for the job I’ve already been doing. But it was nice to be asked, rather than “told” as in the past, and I was told that the $$ person would be calling me too. Now that the school’s been down an adminstrator for how long, AND another person is gone as well, maybe there’s a raise in my future?!? Not likely. Actually, I’d be happy with more comp time, quite honestly. I’ve blown through all of my time off, so more would be nice. Who knows. Not thinking about it til next year (that gives me, what, a week?).

Cysta, let me tell you about the wallop-polyp of a day so far

So far. Because I’ve stopped asking, “what next?”

Sybil turned in her resgination today. After a week of collecting Christmas gifts from the parents and the school board, she turned in her letter and her key. In time *NOT* to work (I think) the days she’d previously volunteered to cover the week of Jan 2nd in the all year room. Nice. Because I have time to deal with that. Actually, I’m not dealing with that.

M is 100% recovered, it seems. She spent this morning with a friend and is down for the count now. L is no better, no worse. Needing to make a plan concerning that, because waiting until sometime next week to go back to the doc’s isn’t sitting well with me. Me? I’m too busy to worry about me!

GOOD THINGS: the shopping is done. the laundry is done. everyone’ s currently asleep. the rain should stop soon. and as my aunt so wisely emailed to me last night , I am putting it in God’s hands. oh, and the school board gave us each TWO bottles of wine. Funny, and oh-so-appropriate. And needed.
