So, are you keeping track?

Keeping track of all of the comments you’re leaving and returning every day of NaComLeaMo, that is?? I have to admit, I’ve geeked out on this one and I’m loving it. I’m definitely doing this for future carnivals and what-nots where there are a mass of blogs to sort through.

Basically, I’m employing the wonders (of which I really know very little of) of Excel. I copy and pasted the master list from the Stirrup Queen into a new spread sheet. Excel magically put each link in a cell for me, and when I click on it, it connects straight to the blog. Once I’ve commented, I just go back to the spread sheet and add the date. I might also add a comment to myself (blog topic, things in common, etc). This way, I can jump around on the list and not lose my place. ‘Cause things like that are important to me. (I often find myself controlling mundane things like this when my real life is filled with things I can’t control)

So tell me, are you keeping track of the comment-fest? What else do you keep track of that nobody else would ever–do you keep a book log? A running list of spices in the pantry? An alphabetized collection of DVDs or Cds? Come on, you can tell me…..

Blogging about Blogging and a question

Being part of NaComLeaMo is a little like trying to enter all of the giveaways when it’s Bloggy Giveaways carnival time. All waking computer time is spent working off a master list, trying to get to as many blogs as possible. Add to that the fact that people are coming over to comment on my blog, and then I feel like I should post something interesting. Or at least something better than a post about blogging.

Do you want to hear more about the dance contest?? Turns out, we will be getting to stay in NYC for two nights, near Times Square. We’re near Times Square because it’s only 1.5 miles from where the Regis and Kelly studio is!! I feel like we will be walking onto the set of Sex and the City. But as much as I want to see the movie, I don’t want to waste two hours in Manhattan watching a movie. I’m thinking more along the lines of a Broadway show. I’m assuming we’ll have from afternoon Friday until sometime on Saturday to do things.

What would you do if you were in Manhattan for a 48 hour vacation??

The Burning Building Test

Today I was cruising around the internet, saw a reference to “using an adoption agency that knows what the burning building test…”…and with a little help from Google, I was able to find out myself what that was all about. I found this post at Weebles Webblog and it made me feel better. I have no doubt in my mind that this is how J feels, and I am very, very glad that BgK and I are on the ground, ready to catch McBaby.

My biggest fear is that if she does have second thoughts, will she go through with it anyway because she doesn’t want to disappoint us? She’s expressed how grateful she is that we are willing and able to do this. She has said she wants the best thing for this baby. But still.

Thank you for your encouraging comments on “It’s Weird”–you are truly wonderful, my friends (virtually and in real life).
