First off, let me come right out and say that this is a biased review. And it’s not because the One2One Network sent me a copy of “Your Songs” to review.
It’s because Harry Connick, Jr. could read the tax code to me and I would be wowed. So, with that in mind, here is my totally opinionated review of “Your Songs”:
“Your Songs” is an album of covers–covers of some of the best love songs ever. He puts a jazzy/night club feel to Billy Joel’s, “Just the Way You Are”, and, as you may have guessed, “Your Song” by Elton John. He does “And I Love Her” by the Beatles, and “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin. It’s jazzy, and it’s songs you know by heart. There are moments when it gets a little lounge-lizard cheesy, but I’m OK with that–after all, it’s Harry Connick, Jr. (told you I was biased)
The album is available in stores and online–check it out!
Disclosure: Thanks to the One2One Network, I received a copy of the CD in the mail (complete with photos of Harry!)
