It’s become the norm to do interent searches on everything about being a mom–from diaper rash to starting solid foods to what to ask a potential babysitter. The quality of your search results can vary greatly, depending on where you search.
A good place to start is at Mamapedia, a compilation of all the wisdom shared by Mamasource users over the years. The Mamasource community has put together answers to their most asked, most popular questions in an easy to use format.
In Mamapedia, they’ve compiled these handy items by topic, rather than by date and locale like they are in Mamasource. On the home page there are five broad topics from which to choose: Kids by Age, All About Me, Health, Finances and House & Home. You can click on any of these topics and see most popular discussions, or you can simply use the search bar to find topics that interest you. You can also see what’s being searched for right at this very moment on the home page, and the most popular searched of the moment.
Last week I used it to search for information about keeping my sick kiddos comfortable. This week I used it to get ideas on how to help Junior sleep a little better.
Who knows what next week will bring, but I’m thinking Mamapedia will probably have the answer for me……
