Monday, I’m in Love

8 years ago this afternoon, I married my best friend. The day was hotter than Hades, but we didn’t really mind too much. We were too busy being in love, surrounded by friends and family, and too busy PARTYING to really care (all venues and vehicles were air-conditioned to the max).

Since then, we’ve built a crazy-quilt of a life together, including some travel, two adoptions, a cozy townhouse, and an obsession with Saturn. I can’t imagine life any other way.

Happy Anniversary, BgK!

*we were married on a Friday…and yes, we played “Friday I’m in Love”. Our first dance? “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” by Dean Martin.

In the Blink of An Eye

The daycare called yesterday, asking when in August Jr. would be re-enrolling. I’ve talked to my boss a few times about the back-to-school schedule. Today is July15. August 15 is the last Saturday before I go back to work, classes start August 24th.

A few short weeks ago, the summer stretched out before us. I was a little nervous we’d be climbing the walls by now. With the exception of the day MAM announced, “I NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE!” (my exact sentinments), we aren’t going too buggy.

There’s still a month left of summer, but I feel like we are running out of lounging time. If only January would be as fleeting as July.

*for the record, Cow Appreciation Day was fun at Chik-Fil-A. We look a little dishelved, but really, we were just HUNGRY. MAM wanted to be sure we knew she was a girl cow. So she chose a pink visor. Obviously.

In addition to learning Word Press on the fly, I’ve been playing a lot lately.

Last night, after Junior had fallen asleep, MAM and I were playing ponies. She was the pony, I was a member of the SVU.
“Neigh! I need help! I can’t find my honey!”
“Where do you think your honey is”
“I don’t know. Maybe in the mailbox. Will you help me? I don’t have any hands.”
“Ok’
We journey to the little mailbox she’s using (don’t you have a mailbox in your living room) and I open the door, and boo! there was the missing honey.
“Neigh! I’ve lost my honey again!”
“Again? You need to keep an eye on her”
“I think she was playing in the boxes. Will you help me? I don’t have any hands!”
“Ok”
So we head over to her toy shelf, and there, in a see-thru box, is the honey!

I love summer.
