Gifts that Keep on Giving: Goldfish Swim Lessons Giveaway

Updated: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to PunkinMama! Thanks for playing! When I was a kid, one of the most exciting things about the holiday season was getting the big Sears Christmas catalog, filled with page after page of awesome toys. I’d pour over the book, circling everything my heart desired. I knew I might score one or two things out of that giant book, but the fun was really in the looking.

Today my kids take photos of things they see when we are out at the store and and I add them to their ever-growing wish-lists. They too might get lucky and receive one, maybe two things from their “most-wanted” list.

What I’d rather spend my money, and what most parents I know would rather spend their money on is experiences, and gifts that won’t be out of season before the winter break is over.

Some of the best gifts I think we’ve given and received have been experiences, including:

  • Rock climbing classes for MAM
  • National Park passports & a trip to St. Louis to get some passport stamps
  • Tickets to Holiday World (something to look forward to all winter long!)

This holiday season, Goldfish Swim School & I are on the same page about giving experiences. What Rhymes with 104?

Last month my family celebrated my dear grandma, who is now 104 years young. We joined them for the weekend celebration, and got the play-by-play of her big day during the week.

When she turned 100, the mayor came out to meet her, and a reporter wrote a front-page story on her. Apparently, 104 is the next age where you get media attention, because the paper came out again to catch up with her.

She continues to live life in the moment and enjoys telling her favorite stories. She loves the adult coloring books that are so popular right now, and it seems like her sweet tooth gets sweeter every time I see her. She still plays BINGO, and is always happy to see us when we arrive.

If I’m still around in 60 years, I’d like to be just like her!

Party Like a Mother

The makers of Bad Moms are back, with a holiday themed sequel, which seems just about perfect. I laughed and laughed with my girlfriends at the first Bad Moms, so I’m certain we’ll cracking up again when we go to see Bad Moms 2, Electric Boogaloo    Bad Moms Christmas. Don’t you just love a good night out?

Studio Movie Grill is ready to host, and can take care of everything from reserving your seats to bringing your food (and dessert! and cocktails!) to you while you enjoy the movie. If you’re the planner in your group (me! I’m the Virgo! I’m the planner!), click on over to Studio Movie Grill and make a reservation for your squad. The movie opens November 2, just in time to get a night out together before the holiday madness starts.

Can’t wait for the movie to open for a night out? Leave a comment telling me how you party like a mother, and one lucky winner will win 4 passes to Studio Movie Grill! Giveaway open through 9pm Weds, Oct 26th!

Disclosure: Thanks to Studio Movie Grill for treating me and my squad to a night out. You’ll probably see it on the Internet when it happens!
