Today is weigh in day at Tales from the Scales. I am happy to report that I am down one pound from last week. As Thea posted a week ago, I’m also realizing that I am more on a fitness journey at this point in my life. Yes, I have a few pounds to lose, but without exercise, I really don’t think it’s going to happen. SO, I’m going to focus on that this month. I do best if I have a consistent routine, which will be a challenge with my current schedule, but I’m going to try. I promise to report back!
Yes, exercise is key to losing a few pounds. 🙂 And yeah, fitness is my goal, too.
Path to Health
Ditto to what Mama Bear June said! Without exercise, I think it’s very unlikely we’ll lose weight and even more unlikely that we’ll keep it off. Active living, habitual exercise, that’s what’s going to make the difference in the long run. Oh, and healthy eating habits too, of course! Easier said than done, I know.
I think my problem is, I don’t set attainable goals. And I forgot to count the small stuff.
So, “do three 5Ks this year” is probably not going to happen, as much as I want to run again.
But the 30 minutes dancing and swaying and lunging with a 30+ pounds toddler in my arms last night? Probably worth a 20 minute aerobics class, so I need to count that! (And do it much more often)….
Let’s just try walking more each day (even if it’s just 5 farther parking spaces away from a door, or 2 extra trips up and down stairs…) and then getting in a “real” workout when we can – bike ride, walk w/ the kid.
Those are attainable. I’ll work on bigger goals later. I just need to slowly get started back up….
