If you’ve ever seen me before noon, chances are, I was drinking coffee. It’s just what I do. When I learned about Brickhouse Roasters right here on the northeast side of Indianapolis, I had knew I had to try some.
Brickhouse Coffee is roasted in small batches, but it has such big, big plans. This coffee is roasted by Jared and Lora Stayon, in the two-story brick house that’s part of Horizon Christian Fellowship’s campus. These missionaries have the vision of creating a coffee school, where people can learn how to roast coffee and make coffee roasting a sustainable business around the world. Coffee roasting as a sustainable business to missionary families around the world- brilliant isn’t it?
But back to the actual coffee. Last week, I found a bag of freshly roasted coffee at my front door after a long day of work and kid stuff. I ground the beans, and soon had a warm mug of coffee in my hands. This coffee is something to savor. Much like wine, I don’t actually have the vocabulary to review the coffee like a pro, but let’s just say the words “smooth” and “rich” come to mind. It’s good. It’s for a good cause. What more is there to know?
