WINNERS!

It wasn’t easy, but I went ahead and chose winners for the My Fruit Roll Ups giveaway! I had no particular criteria or scientific method….just three stories that jumped out at me for whatever particular reason!

Here are the three winning comments:

This one made say “aww…”
From elisarose: “The first Valentine’s Day after we were married, I was 7 months pregnant (not quite a honeymoon baby, but very close!). My husband was a youth pastor and we lived in the little house behind the church. Small budget, small house, big dreams. Somehow, he scraped up the money, and sitting in the baby’s room Valentine’s Day morning was the whitest, prettiest rocking chair from Cracker Barrel with a huge red bow hanging off it. Seven years later, and I’ve rocked all 4 of my babies in that rocking chair…”

This one made me laugh:
From Reeva: “my sweetest valentine was in 3rd grade.. the boy i had a crush on gave me a card and some candy — it was half eaten because he ate 1/2 and gave me the other half .. back then i was mad, but now i think its so cute, he was giving 1/2 of himself to me :)”

And this one made me smile:
From qtpies7: “My husband had to move to Minnesota ahead of us, and for Valentine’s day he sent me a message in a bottle! It was so sweet, and the poem was written by him. Such sweet words! The funny thing was that the card I sent him had such a close message to his poem that he wrote from his heart! LOL We were on the same wave length and really were touched by it.”

Weigh In? What weigh in???

So it’s been awhile since I’ve posted a Weigh-In Wednesday. Partially because I’ve been doing “works for me Wednesday”, partially, because, well, I’ve lost my focus. I’ve become content to hang out at around 175, give or take a pound. I’ve given up on the idea of carving out time to exercise. I’ve gotten lax about what I’m eating. I’m maintaining, but I feel like a few more weeks of just getting by will turn into gaining back the five pounds I’ve lost.

And I’m going to be in sunny Florida, with noticeably less clothes on in exactly four weeks. So. I’m weighing back in on Wednesday. Encouraging comments welcome!

Oh, and currently, I’ve scaled back on the snacking since I’m spending every free moment entering giveaways. (No food ’round the ‘puter) And I’m busy reading entries to my first giveaway and my second giveaway. And making calorie-free Valentines. So I’m off to a good start.

For a Good Cause!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned them much, but I have a group of good friends through a Cooking Light Supper Club. We met each other right around September 2001. For the past seven years, we’ve been meeting every so often to, well, eat. Most notably, homemade, fabulous, gourmet low-fat fare. Oh, and dessert. There is always dessert.

One of my fellow supper-clubbers has been recently diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. She’s starting treatment, and her prognosis is good, but she’s going to need help to get through it. So, the club gathered to eat….and to brainstorm.

We are selling this fabulous homemade chocolate scented heart shaped soaps in time for Valentine’s Day. The larger soaps come in a gauzy little drawstring bag and sell for $3, the smaller soaps come three to a box and the box sells for $7. Shipping is $2 for a single soap, $3 for a box, and totally negotiable if you buy more than one item…so buy in bulk for every chocoholic on your list!! The larger size can also be dyed red and scented with cinnamon.

So, how do you get your valentine some of this fabulousness? Just email me at gotchababy05@gmail.com or leave a comment with your email and I’ll get back to you.
Right now we’re just accepting PayPal….if you are interested, email me and we’ll figure something out!
