Local Coffee, World Vision (and a discount code)

If you’ve ever seen me before noon, chances are, I was drinking coffee. It’s just what I do. When I learned about Brickhouse Roasters right here on the northeast side of Indianapolis, I had knew I had to try some.

Brickhouse Coffee ShopBrickhouse Coffee is roasted in small batches, but it has such big, big plans. This coffee is roasted by Jared and Lora Stayon, in the two-story brick house that’s part of Horizon Christian Fellowship’s campus. These missionaries have the vision of creating a coffee school, where people can learn how to roast coffee and make coffee roasting a sustainable business around the world. Coffee roasting as a sustainable business to missionary families around the world- brilliant isn’t it?

But back to the actual coffee. Last week, I found a bag of freshly roasted coffee at my front door after a long day of work and kid stuff. I ground the beans, and soon had a warm mug of coffee in my hands. This coffee is something to savor. Much like wine, I don’t actually have the vocabulary to review the coffee like a pro, but let’s just say the words “smooth” and “rich” come to mind. It’s good. It’s for a good cause. What more is there to know?
