Lovin’, French Fries and Me {and A Giveaway}

pay with lovin“Mom?”

“Yes?”

“I love you.”

I am lucky enough to hear this a couple times a day, and even more on the weekends. My kids are lovebugs, and it’s one of the best thing about them. We also play a little game….when one of us calls another by the wrong name- “Meg, I mean Andrew….” we owe the wronged person a hug and kiss. It really is the little things, you know?

In honor of Valentine’s Day, McDonald’s is celebrating kind of the same thing, with their Pay With Lovin’ promotion. You probably saw the commercials during the Superbowl.

Can you really pay with a fist bump or a high five or a text to a loved one?

The short answer: YES!!

Through February 14th, McDonald’s will be randomly selecting customers to Pay with Lovin’…. instead of cash. How fun is that?

Just in case you aren’t randomly selected for a Lovin’ transaction, you’ve got another chance right here to experience some Lovin’ (or at least some McDonald goodies and food).

  1. I have a toddler, so I actually hear that a lot. It’s comforting to know she has so much love in her life. And I’d say one of the ways in which I show her that I love her is the fact that it’s February and I still read How The Grinch Stole Christmas nearly every day before naptime.

    It’s cool that McDonald’s is doing this. I likely won’t go to McDonald’s between now and Saturday because I try not to go there more than about once a month (it’s a sometimes food, not an anytime food like for example apples) and I was there like 2 weeks ago, but I actually had something similar happen once. I’m typically friendly to the drive-thru workers and almost always, if I’m at a Chick-fil-a, they are extraordinarily friendly as well. So one morning about 7-8 years ago, I was just being my usual friendly self and when I pulled around to pay the girl told me it would be no charge. She said every day they like to give a free meal to someone and I was very friendly, so she wanted to use her discretion to thank me. It was pretty awesome. I don’t know if it was her manager or if it was a store level–or maybe even every location does that?–but it’s really cool that McDonald’s is promoting positivity across the country.

  2. I’m not a big hugger, but I try to make a point of giving my kiddos an extended hug from time to time. I also will pick up little things for them — a new lip balm, a favorite box of sugary cereal, a pair of fun socks — just because I love them.

  3. I love showing some lovin’ for my amazing coworkers by playing the “Vending Machine Fairy” and leaving dollars for the next person’s sugar or caffeine fix!
