A Movie Worth Seeing: Slumdog Millionaire

Since MAM came on the scene in late 2005, I haven’t been to the movies very much. We watch a lot of movies at home, but we don’t go for the big theatre experience very often. Recently, however, a girlfriend suggested we go see Slumdog Millionaire, and WOW.

Slumdog Millionaire takes place and was filmed in Mumbai, India. Sweeping landscape, stunning color, amazing acting, and intense, intense drama. I have to say that I loved every minute of it, even the painful parts. I loved how the plot was based around “Who wants to be a Millionaire”, and I loved the Indian Regis-like host. The soundtrack is perfect, the three actors who played each of the main characters were incredible–I could go on and on…..

I don’t want to say too much to give it away, but I will say this : GO SEE IT.

It Wouldn’t be my Blog if….

I didn’t post about an ear infection every now and then….

Apparently, MAM has caught on that this is, in fact, THE YEAR OF THE GERM, and has joined the party. Slippery goo is oozing out of her ear. She doesn’t seem to mind it too much, we just joke that she has “stinky ear”. And I’ll be calling the ENT on Monday. NOT the way to start a new year, my friends, that’s for sure!

A Shoe Thing

So my cyber-friend Alicia sort of has this “thing” for shoes….and she is having some shoe voting going on this week. Go check it out….and vote for my shoes (they will be your favorites, I assure you)! Mine are on Tuesdays docket…labeled “Michelle’s Shoes”.

Also. on a totally unrelated note, I have decided, merely 21 days into 2009, that this is, sadly, THE YEAR OF THE GERM. Seriously, it feels like it will never end. The upside is that there is a lot of cuddly-cuddle time with the kiddos. When they aren’t cuddley, typically, they are sleeping. Last night MAM slept from 4:45pm until 9:30pm, and then 10:30pm until after 7 this morning. The downside is that this case of pink eye is holding on for nearly 2 weeks, my cold for one. Blah.

That’s it for me…off to cuddle sick little boy and run him a steamy bath!! Stay healthy and go vote for shoes, my friends.
